Since its founding in 1994 by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the Ford Theatre Foundation, an independent not-for-profit organization, has been dedicated to supporting the performing arts and education activities that are presented by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre.
In addition to raising funds for the Ford's performing arts and education programs, one of the Foundation's most important functions is to present a growing number of innovative performing arts programs at the Ford, programs designed to address the specialized needs of local audiences.
The Foundation currently presents three annual series at the Ford: the BIG!WORLD!FUN! family series, the Chamber Music Under the Stars, and the Ford Playreading Series These series offer outstanding groups in a format designed to introduce new audiences to the performing arts.
